Prolific screenwriter Taylor Sheridan has nine new and returning shows on the horizon; here's what you need to know about each of them and when they premiere. Ever since his rise to massive notoriety with Yellowstone, Taylor Sheridan has become one of the most prolific writers in Hollywood. The list of Sheridan's best movies and shows includes some of the best neo-Westerns ever, and he's responsible for 10 TV series and six movies so far.

Sheridan is also only going to get more prolific in the near future. He's written two different movies that are fast approaching, a Call of Duty film based on the first person shooter video game of the same name that's set to hit theaters on June 30, 2028, and an original film titled F.A.S.T. scheduled for May 14, 2027. Those two movies releasing about a year apart are just the start, however, as Sheridan also has nine upcoming shows on the horizon.

From more Yellowstone spinoff shows to returning series and two new original shows, Taylor Sheridan has been writing like he's running out of time for several years now. Currently, there are two new Sheridan shows premiering in October, another that should hit Paramount+ before 2026 is over, and several more tentatively scheduled for 2027. Marshals Season 2

Release Date: October 4, 2026

The next Taylor Sheridan show fans can watch is Marshals season 2, the Yellowstone sequel series focusing on Kayce Dutton (Luke Grimes). Though it only premiered on CBS earlier this year, Marshals is already set to return for its second season on Sunday, October 4, just under two weeks from the time of writing. That's because CBS moved Marshals up in the network TV calendar to be part of the channel's fall broadcasting schedule, alongside shows like Tracker.

As for its story, Marshals season 2 seems poised to continue the episodic "case of the week" structure that season 1 introduced. Kayce and his team of U.S. Marshals will presumably keep tracking down criminals, though series antagonist Tom Weaver seems to be upping his attempts to attack and take Kayce's land, the remainder of the Duttons' Yellowstone ranch. Everything from Kayce's team to his son, Tate (Brecken Merrill), is at stake in Marshals season 2.

Tulsa King Season 4

Release Date: October 16, 2026

The next Taylor Sheridan show to premiere on Paramount+ rather than on broadcast via CBS is Sylvester Stallone's Tulsa King season 4. Less than a year after the ending of Tulsa King season 3, Tulsa King season 4 is set to premiere on Paramount+ on Friday, October 16. On top of that speedy return, Tulsa King season 5 is reportedly already being written, and the series is about to get its first spinoff show in the form of Frisco King.

Fans can expect more of what they've already come to love from Tulsa King season 4. The trailer for Tulsa King season 4, for example, teased Dwight continuing to legitimize his criminal empire, deal with familiar antagonists like Frank Grillo's Bill Bevilaqua and Neal McDonough's Cal Thresher, and get into several action-packed gun and fist fights. Paramount has also teased that Tulsa King season 4 will feature a "crushing personal loss" for Dwight, so it's safe to assume there will be plenty of tragedy in the new season.

Mayor of Kingstown Season 5

Release Date: Late 2026/Early 2027

In a bittersweet moment for fans of the show, Mayor of Kingstown is returning for its fifth and final season soon. While it doesn't have an official release date yet, Mayor of Kingstown season 5 is projected to premiere on Paramount+ in late 2026 or early 2027. Jeremy Renner has already shared that Mayor of Kingstown has finished filming season 5, but it's not clear how much longer post-production and marketing will take.

As bittersweet as it is, knowing that Mayor of Kingstown season 5 will be the show's final installment also makes it easier to predict what to expect out of its story. FBI agent Russell Hardy is investigating Kingstown, and he's sure to uncover secrets that should have stayed buried. Mike McLusky's grip on the town is waning, and as the show comes to an end, there's no guarantee that he'll get out unscathed or alive.

Landman Season 3

Release Date: Early 2027

In a rare delay for Sheridan, Landman season 3 won't be returning as quickly as fans have become accustomed to. While it doesn't have an official release date yet, Landman season 3 only began filming this month, in September. That leaves virtually no chance for the series to return in 2026, meaning, for the first time, Landman will have more than an entire year separating two of its seasons' premiere dates.

Once Landman season 3 hits Paramount+, presumably in early 2027, it should be able to hit the ground running. Tommy has set up his new company, CTT Oil Exploration & Cattle, meaning he'll be able to focus more on his own family instead of M-Tex. He also still has to juggle his relationship with cartel boss and financier Gallindo, and Cami Miller should be able to work her way into the picture somehow even as she deals with her disastrous offshore oil rig.

Dutton Ranch Season 2

Release Date: 2027

Taylor Sheridan's other Yellowstone sequel show, Dutton Ranch, is also returning for another outing. Dutton Ranch season 2 doesn't have the same speedy turnaround as its network sibling, Marshals, but it will likely make its debut on Paramount+ sometime in mid-2027. The story will continue Beth and Rip's struggles to establish a new ranch in Texas and resolve a cliffhanger surrounding their adoptive son, Carter.

Dutton Ranch season 2's behind-the-scenes changes are more interesting than its story, however. Dutton Ranch is switching showrunners, and Sheridan himself is taking a more hands-on approach to the show's writing than he did in season 1. While Dutton Ranch secured good reviews and great viewership, those changes should be good omen that the series can get even better in its sophomore outing.

Frisco King

Release Date: 2027

The first new series Taylor Sheridan is set to debut in the immediate future is Frisco King, the Tulsa King spinoff following Samuel L. Jackson's Russell Lee Washington Jr. Filming for Frisco King has reportedly already finished, and while the show hasn't gotten an official premiere date, it should debut sometime in 2027, likely after the ending of Tulsa King season 4.

Paramount has been tight-lipped about story details for Frisco King season 1, but there are some likely avenues the story will follow. Jackson's character, Lee, is set to depart for Frisco, Texas, to start his own criminal empire by following Dwight's example. He'll likely meet several new characters while there and dip his fingers into several criminal pies, and he'll likely run into pushback from existing criminal elements and the police, just as Dwight did in Tulsa King season 1.

The Madison Season 2

Release Date: 2027

The last confirmed show Taylor Sheridan is set to premiere is also his most unique: The Madison season 2. A full-blown drama with no action elements, The Madison season 2 has reportedly already finished filming, as it was filmed at the same time as season 1. Michelle Pfeiffer also teased that The Madison could return in fall 2026, however, given the lack of confirmation of that release window, a 2027 premiere date seems more likely.

The Madison season 2 has plenty of story threads left to explore. Stacy Clyburn returned to Montana at the end of The Madison season 1, and she'll likely continue trying to grieve her husband's death and make a new life in his favorite place. Abigail also sparked a new romance with Van, which should be enough to draw her to Montana as well. The Madison season 2 should have more grief, more romance, and more of everything fans love about it.

Lioness Season 4

While not officially confirmed by Paramount yet, there's a near-guarantee that Lioness will return for a fourth season. Lioness season 3 ended just days ago, but it left things on a very sizable cliffhanger. Given that and the show's popularity — Lioness season 3 broke viewership records for Paramount — it's safe to assume Sheridan will get a chance to produce a fourth and potentially final season of his military and spy thriller series.

Unfortunately, since Lioness season 4 has yet to be confirmed, there's no telling when the series could return. About a year and a half separates each of the show's current three seasons, so assuming that the potential fourth season follows suit, it will likely hit Paramount+ in late 2027 or early 2028. Much of it depends on Zoe Saldaña and Nicole Kidman's schedules, but Lioness will more likely than not be returning sooner or later.

1944

The least certain of all of Sheridan's shows is another Yellowstone prequel series. In keeping with the other prequels named after the year they take place in, Sheridan has confirmed that 1944 is still in active development as of August. While the confirmation that it's in development is encouraging, 1944 still has no official release date or even window even a full year since the last prequel, 1923, ended.

For fans who have been waiting for more of the Dutton family's history, 1944 does have a somewhat clear path forward. Spencer Dutton should still be alive and in control of the ranch by 1944, and the show will likely dive into his sons and their own personal tragedies. How World War II plays into the story is still a mystery, as 1944 is a ripe setting for any period drama. Even if 1944 does take a while to get here, fans of Taylor Sheridan will have plenty to watch in the meantime.
