Emmerdale death ‘sealed’ as a victim is found
One Emmerdale resident’s life is in danger next week, as they are brutally attacked.
Not much is known about this storyline just yet, aside from the fact a flashforward will air. It will take us to a crime scene, and when a photograph is taken, we briefly see who the victim is.
But how bad is this person’s attack?
Will they survive and reveal who the perpetrator is?
Or is it too late?
Let’s take a look at those in with a chance of facing jeopardy next week…
Dr Caitlin Todd
First up is the Demon Doctor of Hotten General, Caitlin Todd (Caroline Harker).
The GP from Hell has already racked up a list of would-be attackers thanks to her relentless workplace bullying of Jacob Gallagher (Joe-Warren Plant).
His wife Sarah Sugden (Katie Hill), grandad Eric Pollard (Chris Chittell), and his formidable wife-for-tax-purposes Kerry Wyatt (Laura Norton) would all happily sharpen the knives for the Not-So-Good Doctor.
If you think that’s a lot of potential culprits, you can go ahead and double after Todd’s horrific sexual assault on Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins).
Her husband Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb), cousin Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley), and ex-girlfriend and flatmate of Doctor Todd Vanessa Woodfield (Michelle Hardwick) will all be baying for the monster’s blood – not to mention the entire Dingle clan.

A villain as insidious as Doctor Todd always comes with an expiration date.
With the end of the villainous clinician in sight, the question remains if Caitlin will face justice in court…or via violent methods?
Vinny Dingle
The quirky yet adorable son of the iconic Mandy Dingle (Lisa Riley), in every way that counts anyway. While Vinny’s (Bradley Johnson) biological parents are Tina Dingle and the abusive Paul Ashford (Reece Dinsdale), Mandy raised the lad as her own.
He didn’t come to know his true parentage until he came to Emmerdale, which resulted in secrets, lies and the death of his monstrous bully of a father in a fiery explosion.
Last year, Vinny went on a journey of self-discovery after almost kissing his best mate. At the same time, he was in a relationship with Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham), which eventually resulted in them getting married.
The silver lining of this particular cloud was Lewis Barton (Bradley Riches), also a young gay man who had never had a boyfriend before. Lewis shares a house with Vinny, became his friend and gave him the space to be himself. A sweet romance would soon bloom, Emmerdale’s very own version of Heartstopper.
Sadly, Heartstopper is about to become Heartbreaker, as Vinny is among the characters set to be leaving Emmerdale this year.
How, we don’t know. But it potentially has something to do with Lewis’ long lost father, the delightfully demented man-bunned maniac Kev Townsend (Chris Coghill).
Kev has returned to Emmerdale bringing his own special brand of chaos with it. What started as a spontaneous holiday to Madeira with Vinny ended in terror when poor Lewis was abducted by a masked attacker before he can even get to the airport and bundled into a van.
This is the handiwork of Kylie, a shadowy figure from Kev’s past who has kidnapped Lewis and won’t let him go until Kev gives her back ‘Penny’.
If Kylie’s capable of kidnap, it’s not a stretch to assume she’s capable of other forms of violence. Anyone else have the sinking feeling that poor Vinny might pay the price for getting caught up in Kev’s carnage?
Dawn Taylor
There’s a sure way to risk your life in Emmerdale – double cross Joe Tate (Ned Porteous), as Dawn Taylor (Olivia Bromley) may be about to discover.
For weeks, she was playing the dutiful bride-to-be and expectant mother for the scheming trust fund baby of Home Farm, all the while concocting a secret plot with Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb) to destroy Joe’s life and run off with their unborn child after discovering just how ruthless the businessman truly was.
In a Machiavellian powerplay, Joe framed Moira for running Celia Daniel’s people trafficking operation by blackmailing Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) into planting fake ID and passports on the farmer, just so he could add Butler’s Farm to the Tate property empire.
Disgusted, Dawn teamed up with Moira to take her wicked fiancé down, pretending that all was rosy while sharpening the knife for revenge.
Unfortunately, Joe rumbled Dawn’s plan.
So when Graham Foster (Andrew Scarborough) found her collapsed at the bottom of the stairs, he could be forgiven for assuming foul play.
However, a visit to the hospital confirmed that Dawn merely passed out due to low iron. For once, Joe wasn’t to blame. Rather than respond to her plan to break his heart with murderous retribution, he decided to spend the past few weeks trying to prove that he can be the decent man she deserves, in the hope that she wouldn’t walk out the door.
Although when Graham and Joe agreed to end Dawn’s plot ‘for good’, it didn’t exactly sound reassuring. More like a teeny bit sinister.
With Dawn’s actor Olivia Bromley set to bow out of the Dales this year, one can’t help but wonder if Joe’s quest to turn over a new leaf for the woman he loves might last about five minutes.
But as devastating as it would be to see Dawn’s life in danger, we’re bawling in the aisles at the prospect of our fourth and final candidate facing the violence.
Jimmy King
Poor Jimmy King (Nick Miles). The last surviving brother of the duplicitous King family, and probably the only truly nice character ever to bear that surname.
These days, Jimmy lives a quiet and relatively drama-free life, quite a feat for the most dramatic village in Yorkshire. The only risk to his life is death by passive aggression at the hands of his lovely wife, Nicola King (Nicola Wheeler).
Unfortunately, that’s all about to change. Jimmy King has been marked for death. He’s set to bow out of the Dales in Autumn, the victim of an explosive stunt. But how?
It’s possible that Jimmy finds himself caught up in Kev’s chaotic return. After all Nicola was the first to discover that Lewis is the man-bunned menace’s long lost son, and will do anything she can to keep that raging loon out of the poor lad’s life.
There’s also a far more dangerous way Jimmy could die… or as she prefers to be known, Sadie King (Patsy Kensit)
The volatile soap vixen is due to return to Emmerdale later this year for a shocking reunion with her ex-husband Jimmy. Given how they left things last time, she’s got a score to settle…
When business magnate Tom broke things off with Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins), she famously got even with Sadie by embarking on an affair with Jimmy, recording a conversation with him as he admitted to Sadie’s schemes on a VHS tape, which Charity screened in front of the entire family.
The character departed the village in 2006 after being double-crossed by Cain (Jeff Hordley). He nicked some ransom money, but chose to leave Sadie behind. Ouch.
If Sadie is back to get revenge on Jimmy, it won’t even be her first time. During the fallout of the King’s river show home collapse in 2005, Sadie struck her ex-hubbie with a brick in an attempt to permanently silence him from telling anyone about her plan to sabotage the show home to land the Kings in trouble.
Who is the victim in Emmerdale?
-
Someone else entirely…
Since Jimmy’s death is confirmed, he seems like the most likely option for this attack. But he’s not scheduled to perish until Autumn.
Will this upcoming flashforward take us that far into the future?
Or could the the victim be someone else entirely?
